Southend City Council have a great opportunity for a forward thinking, driven and compassionate individual to join the Educational Psychologist team who are committed to providing a first class service to the children and families with SEND.

The Assistant Educational Psychologist post is a supportive post to qualified Educational Psychologists and offers experience of the role invaluable for application to the EP Training Programme. Assistant EPs assist with core, traded, and statutory work with children aged 0 to 25 years, and accessing educational provision. Assistants will join EPs in working at the individual, group, and organisational level, assessing and observing individual young people, meeting with relevant professionals, working alongside parents and carers, devising intervention programmes, evaluating special educational needs and provision, making and disseminating useful resources, and training. Assistant EPs will have a role in the generic EP Schools Service, but will also work in the new Emotional Wellbeing Service that will be developed within the wider EP Service. This will means similar work to that mentioned above but in relation to primary needs around social, emotional, and mental health needs.

To be considered for this post candidates must possess a Psychology Degree BSc with possibility for Graduate Basis of Registration with the British Psychological Society.
