Are you a reliable and hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining safe and welcoming educational environments? We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join a team at a school in Newcastle.
Responsibilities:

• Premises Management: Oversee the day-to-day running of the school premises, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
• Security: Open and close the school site, conduct regular site checks, and maintain building security.
• Maintenance: Performing general maintenance tasks, including repairs, window cleaning, and upkeep of communal areas.
• Health and Safety: Proactively assess maintenance issues, report building defects, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Team Leadership: Lead a small team of property caretakers, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

• Experience in ground maintenance and general caretaking (or similar)
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to handle occasional school lettings and events outside regular school hours.

Note: This position is initially long-term temporary, with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and organisational needs.
