Job description
Provide leadership and direction to the Gas Analysis Cumbernauld Operations team to establish an elite facility and competitive organization supporting the Global business requirements.
Responsible for leading, planning and coordination of operations strategies for the site, in line with Measurement Solutions global standard processes and systems to ensure operations capability and capacity for sales growth.
Coordination of all operations-related investments and operations cost and efficiency optimization programs.
In this role, your responsibilities will be:
Operations:
- Maintain adequate Quality processes and controls to ensure product and process quality.
- Lead the Operations teams to execute customer orders to requested and promised dates.
- Actively contribute to the European & Global Operations strategic planning process and lead implementation of improvement activities.
- Ensure effective teamwork and communication with the sales organization and other functions, on individual orders and to fulfil the Cumbernauld operations vision.
- Establish and implement process improvements and action plans to address root causes of different deviations from the operational targets.
- Implement an effective continuous improvement program ensuring principles of Perfect Execution and 5S+1 are embedded in the production processes.
- Optimize inventory levels through WIP management and close collaboration with Supply Chain on direct & indirect materials.
- Review output targets and lead supply base and labour force to achieve shipping targets.
- Drive a Total Productive Maintenance program to minimize unintended disruptions.
- Perform effective capacity and resourcing planning, supported by the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning process.
- Be responsible for the receiving, warehousing, and shipping to provide the timely receipt, restocking, picking, and shipment of goods.
- Plan and develop the yearly Operations budget and support long range planning..
- Communicate with employees to discuss business conditions and resolve problems in the organization balancing business and employees’ needs.
- Develop programs and set up KPI to ensure continued development of the Operations organization.
- Provide leadership for personal and business development, including leading the organization review and organization development processes.
Site Level:
- Provide strong leadership in developing a ‘Culture of Safety’ and continuous improvement to ensure a safe environment throughout the location.
- Operations management representative in (in)formal audits; Corporate compliance, Safety & Quality, Financial.
- Main Operations contact for the local council/government, Industrial Estate working group, Employee Association (social events), & business association (FME), Emerson One Governance Program, Trade compliance, Check point, Record Retention.
- Support overall facility and related activities, including lease renewals, landlord relation, permits with professional appearance and services.
- Support EHS related activities, incl. employee participation, safety walks and adherence to environmental legislation.
- Support Cumbernauld communications calendar with departments including All Employee Meetings.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Minimum of 10 years relevant (management) experience, preferably in an international Operations or Supply Chain environment.
- Minimum of 5 years leading multi-discipline and/or multi-location teams of over 100 employees.
- Bachelor’s/MBA degree or equivalent in operations, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering.
- Knowledge of LEAN, continuous improvement, and statistical process control are beneficial.
- Experience with Oracle Manufacturing a plus.
