Our client, located in Borehamwood, is actively seeking a Financial Controller to become a permanent member of their team. This presents a great opportunity for individuals with a strong background in financial control, preferably within the lending/financial services sector.
The position is office-based (4/5 days per week) with the company providing various benefits such as early Friday finishes, an in-house chef, and health insurance.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include, but will not be limited to: - Assume responsibility for the month-end process, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with internal and external deadlines
- Take the lead in the balance sheet reconciliation process
- Collaborate with outsourced accountants for year-end, audit, and handle ad hoc queries
- Assist in supporting the year-end audit
- Manage and provide training for the Assistant Accountant
- Evaluate and enhance existing financial control processes
- Provide support for operational finance, including payments and cash book reconciliations
- Contribute to in-house platform reconciliation and development efforts
- Assist in projects and process improvement initiatives
- Any other ad hoc requests as needed.

The successful Financial Controller will require the following skills and experience: - Strong financial control experience
- Ideally from a lending/financial services background
- Experience in process improvement
- Comfortable in a startup environment
- Ability to prioritise your workload
