Are you experienced in advising on procurement legislation and enjoy the challenge of ensuring best value in contracts?
Our Legal team is instrumental in providing legal advice and support to all departments across South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of White Horse District Council. We are looking to recruit experienced legal professionals to join our expanding, friendly Legal team, to help support the future growth and direction of this busy service.
As councils we procure a range of goods and services to deliver our commitments to our residents. This role will need experience of advising on procurement legislation and ensuring best value for the councils as well as work with partners on major procurements, town centre redevelopment and regeneration schemes. The role will work closely with our procurement team ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation.
There is increasing demand for high-level contracts work and we need a skilled and experienced contracts lawyer to manage the team and to advise on projects, carrying a personal case load. This principal lawyer role represents a real opportunity for a lawyer to step up to a management position.
You will need a blend of excellent legal skills developed during your post qualification experience and be able to work independently as well as oversee a small team, up to date knowledge of contract and procurement law and be a qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive. Experience of working in a local authority and supervising staff would be an advantage.
In return you will receive a generous holiday allowance of 25 days, career average pension, truly flexible working and support for your health and wellbeing.
We look forward to hearing from you.
