Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic educational team, specifically focusing on Key Stage 1 (KS1). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education, assisting the class teacher, and contributing to the overall development and well-being of students in this key stage.
Responsibilities:
Teaching Assistance:
- Collaborate with class teachers to plan, deliver, and assess effective learning experiences for Key Stage 1 students.
- Provide individual and small-group support to students, addressing their specific learning needs and challenges.
- Lead and supervise classroom activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
Curriculum Support:
- Support the implementation of the KS1 curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and school policies.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, resources, and displays to enhance the learning environment.
Student Engagement and Behavior Management:
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
- Implement behavior management strategies, promoting a respectful and supportive atmosphere within the classroom.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Contribute to the assessment process by assisting in the evaluation of student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of tests and examinations.
Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, conveying information about student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall school community.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
- Stay abreast of educational trends, curriculum changes, and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in Key Stage 1.
- HLTA qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative when necessary.
- Understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
