Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager, under the guidance of the Chief Marketing Officer, will play a crucial role in driving business growth and fostering client relationships at this firm. This individual will collaborate closely with firm professionals, including leadership, practice chairs, and individual timekeepers, to develop and execute strategic business development plans. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for driving business success.
While this role is primarily remote, occasional travel may be necessary to engage with clients and acquire new business opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with firm leadership to develop and implement strategic business development plans.
- Maintaining a pipeline of targets and opportunities, providing progress updates to ensure goals are met.
- Providing coaching and support to professionals in the development and execution of their business development plans.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Leading business development strategy for events, sponsorships, and marketing initiatives.
- Managing and driving follow-up on business development initiatives across the firm.
- Assisting in developing and managing business development budgets.
- Providing strategic guidance and support for pitch materials, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Building relationships with key industry organizations and practice groups.
- Supporting the integration of lateral hires into ongoing business development efforts.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or strategic planning.
- Experience in information law (eDiscovery, review, information governance, data privacy, and cybersecurity) preferred.
- Supervisory and project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
