Job description
I am looking for a TA to working within a SEND school in Warrington. This is a full time role, with the potential to go permanent.
The school cater for students aged 2-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties, such as Autism, Down's Syndrome and Auditory Processing Disorder. This school place the students at the heart of everything they do, ensuring their experiences at school help them develop both educationally, emotionally and socially. The school is a caring and fun enviornment, which promotes the independence of all students, giving them life long skills to make positive contributions to society. The school offer a varied curriculum tailored to each student's individual needs.
As the successful applicant, you will be working within an EYFS / Key Stage 1 classroom, providng general support to the full classroom. As well as the class teacher, there are also 2 other specialised Teaching Assistants in the classroom - you will be expected to work as part of a team to provide high quality education and care 9 for students. You will be covering all aspects of this role, including contributing to Education Health Care Plans (EHCP), attending parents evening, providing personal care and liasing with other specialist staff, such as speech and language therapists and social workers. On occassions, you may be asked to work within other classrooms where ages and needs of students may vary.
In order to apply for this role, it is essential you have:
- A DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Experience working with either EYFS or SEND in a residnetial setting or a school
- Passion for working with additional needs
- confidence in managing behaviours and maintaining a positive learning space
