Location: Harwell Science Park, South Oxfordshire

Salary £22,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Joining as our new HR Administrator, this is a key role to ensure we achieve our HR strategy for 2024 and beyond, during our exciting company expansion.

In the top 5% of independent UK water hygiene service providers, our strategy is to be the UK’s leading independent water hygiene provider. This is an exciting role joining our small, growing HR team, where you will handle high quality HR support to our UK wide employees. Reporting to our HR Advisor and supporting our Talent Partner, you will complete all HR administrative duties to a high standard. Our role is full time, working 37.5 hours a week Monday – Friday, based in our modern offices in Harwell Science Park, near Didcot. We can be flexible with start and finish times, and these can be 8.00am – 4.00pm, 8.30am – 4.30pm or 9.00am – 5.00pm.

Key Responsibilities of our HR Administrator:

• Create and distribute HR documents, letters, employment contracts and HR correspondence
• Handle all HR inbox enquiries, promptly responding to employee requests, escalating complex HR issues as required
• Manage onboarding of new hires, scheduling / delivering induction sessions, managing new hires 1st day arrangements and creating all onboarding paperwork
• Administer and maintain HR Information Systems (HRIS), ensuring high levels of data accuracy and system integrity
• Handle employee vetting / DBS processes, liaising with external vetting services, and maintaining up to date vetting of all employee in line with security requirements
• Assist with L&D administration, booking venues, managing calendar invites, tracking attendance and liaising with external providers; aiding L&D programmes
• Successfully complete probation and personal development reviews within required review period
• Assist with payroll inputting and checking, with support of HR Advisor
• Support with key HR projects to enhance people experience across SMS
• Build key relationships across all employee levels, acting with discretion and sensitivity

Requirements

Your experience:

Essential:

• Proven HR administrative experience in a fast paced environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
• Excellent communication skills, within English
• Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills
• Extensive IT literacy, across Google Suite and / or Microsoft
• Excellent attention to detail, able to deliver activities to high levels of quality
• Able to plan and organise work effectively to deadlines

Desirable:

• CIPD or CIPP Qualifications

All roles at SMS require a DBS check; SMS Environmental will cover the cost of this if you do not already hold a valid DBS certificate.
