Head of Quality – Salary and Benefits
- Up to GBP65,000 – GBP85,000 (negotiable dependant on experience)
- Company car or car allowance

Role Purpose
The business wants to be the partner of choice for their customers. As a Senior manager in the organisation, you will champion Quality, constantly raising the bar. You will be focused on customer satisfaction, driving improvements in the way that the business operates and driving down the costs of poor quality.
Using data driven root cause analysis, you will take a leading role in transforming the way they identify, solve and prevent problems throughout the business.
Head of Quality – Candidate Requirements
- Essentially: You will be a resilient character, with proven ability and hunger; with the right approach / a collaborative approach to quality. The incumbent will be aim for and push for buy in from the existing team, pulling the department together the right way. Team collaboration is absolutely key.
- Ideally Degree educated (or equivalent), you will also hold a Lead Auditor qualification amongst other quality focussed qualifications.
- Thorough understanding and effective management of Total Quality Management, ISO90001 and associated policies in a global manufacturing supply chain.
- Thorough understanding of compliance requirements across all aspects of the supply chain.
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with strong analytical skills, along with excellent presentation and communication skills. Demonstrated global mindset with the ability to think across disciplines, industries, cultures and scenarios.
- Able to communicate complex technical, compliance and regulatory information in a simple, engaging manner.
- Committed to working harmoniously with shared leadership and in cross–functional teams. A willingness to travel and work in a global team of professional (travel will be infrequent). A strong culture fit with a bias for action, accountability and teamwork.
Head of Quality – Key Responsibilities
- Develop your team of quality specialists – be accountable for maintaining Approvals, conducting inspections and chairing audits.
- Lead the company s efforts to constantly improve continuous product or service quality by implementing process controls, carrying out data analysis and device measurement. Ensure quality focus in NPD, NPI and engineering change activity to ensure product and process compliance.
- Provide compliance and technical data to support product introductions with new and existing customers. Also provide compliance expertise and specialist support as required.
- Advise on changes and proffer recommendations on how to implement them; provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
- Oversee product recalls in the event of product failure and act in a timely and responsible manner. Supplier Quality Improvements: Work with suppliers to ensure QHSE standards a met throughout the supply chain and drive down the cost of poor quality.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish KPIs and achieve quality requirements from external suppliers. Develop and manage effective and sustainable AQLs for both suppliers and customers. Devise and establish a company s quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Establish and maintain controls, documentation and procedures internally to support the QMS. Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency across the site, work with teams to develop and establish & improve procedures, standards, and systems.
