Location: Edinburgh BioQuarter, Little France (there may be some requirement to travel between sites from time-to-time)
We are open to flexible working arrangements for this role but do require the successful candidate to be onsite for most of the time.

Your new role
- An exciting opportunity for a People Assistant to join our team!
- This is a permanent position predominantly providing administrative support to HR with one day per week providing administrative support to other departments.
- The People Assistant will be responsible for supporting the wider People team with a variety of tasks throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Proactively and effectively respond to any queries that arise from employees and managers, taking a customer service approach to deliver the best possible service to the business.
- Responsible for administrative tasks including the maintenance of digital, paper-based, and HRIS records.
- Coordinate the new hire onboarding program including inductions to ensure a positive new-hire experience.
- Partner closely with hiring managers, office management and Training Academy teams to ensure all relevant onboarding tasks are completed to ensure a positive experience for all new hires.
- Monitor upcoming probationary reviews, coordinating with managers to ensure they are completed and preparation of any resulting paperwork.
- Coordinate Attendance Review Meetings and attending meetings as note taker where required.
- Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist with recruitment related activities such as the coordination of interview schedules, candidate phone screening, reference checking, and answering any candidate queries where required.
- Take a continuous improvement approach in your role, identifying areas that can be improved, proposing these, and taking action to implement.
About you
- This position is an ideal opportunity for someone who has experience working in a fast-paced administration role, ideally with some HR experience.
- Some knowledge of employment law/GDPR legislation and HRIS experience is beneficial but not essential.
- You will have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel and Word.
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills with the ability to plan whilst delivering to deadline.
- A determination to continually develop and improve standards.
- You will take responsibility for setting high standards and looking at the bigger picture to recognise the impact of actions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record in maintaining effective relationships and working with a wide range of people.
- Excellent attention to detail and administration and record keeping skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment.
