Are you looking for a career in education to support and inspire young people with Autism, Complex Needs and Communication Barriers? Look no further!

A Special Needs School in Wakefield is looking for a caring Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This role is due to start after February half term until the end of the academic year.

The school supports children and young people from 4 to 18 years with various additional needs, including Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Therefore, if you are patient, understanding and up for a challenge then you will be perfect for this role.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

* Building strong rapport with the pupils in your care to help them feel comfortable and relaxed.
* To support the class teacher with the day to day running of the class.
* To work alongside other support staff and assist with behaviour management where needed.
* To ensure child care plans are followed accurately so the needs of each child are met.

To qualify as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, experience working with children and/or adults with learning disabilities is required. This can be professional or personal experience, such as having a family member with additional needs.
