We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our Finance Department and play a pivotal role in driving accurate and insightful financial reporting. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis, providing valuable insights into the drivers of discrepancies compared to Forecast, Budget, and Prior year.
- Journal Posting: Calculate and post accruals, prepayments, allocations, and the monthly payroll journal. Analyze variances against budget.
- Cash Flow Management: Prepare and forecast cash flows to ensure effective financial planning.
- VAT Returns: Complete quarterly VAT returns with precision and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Take ownership of the entire balance sheet reconciliation process, identifying risks and opportunities promptly.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the Assistant Accountant, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of their work.
- Statutory Accounts: Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and provide support during the annual external audit.
- Cost Control Culture: Promote cost awareness and adherence to cost control procedures, ensuring proper sign-off and authorization processes.
- Project Work: Undertake project work as required to contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Conduct all activities in accordance with Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, actively participating in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, maintaining solid working relationships internally and externally.
- Adaptability: Ability to continuously improve processes and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Teamwork: Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail in a hands-on capacity.
- System Experience: Microsoft Dynamics/365 experience is highly beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:
- Professional Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with PQE.
