Job description
In your role as Design Director, you'll get the opportunity to work across some brilliant brands in the fashion space, producing packaging, retail instore comms, campaigns and even social campaigns.
It's a client facing role and a lot of the role of Design Director will be to liaise and meet with your clients to to build rapport with them, offer your advice and guidance, as well as top line creative ideas for upcoming campaigns and comms. Your team will then roll out the ideas, but you will be expected to jump on a Mac when needed, to finesse design work, or add a touch of inspiration to a piece of work. All work will go through you before it leaves the studio, so it will be your responsibility to make sure it's on brief and packs a punch and wows your clients!
You'll be an inspirational leader, able to inspire your team and lead by example, as well as work closely with the account handling team to drive the relationships and work you produce for your clients forward.
The role of Design Director requires someone who is happy being very client facing. You'll need to demonstrate your ability to hold your own in conversations, giving the best advice and recommendations to your clients and building excellent rapport.
You'll oversee your own creative team, but this is not a Creative Director role and you'll be expected to check on the work, making sure it's robust and adding a splash more inspiration where it's needed, or a bit more thinking or design.
The work will be mostly instore comms, campaigns, packaging, social campaigns etc, so it goes without saying that your portfolio will be jammed packed with beautiful designs across these channels and you must have worked with clients in the fashion sector. The client will be looking to see on trend work and good use of typography and photography.
This agency is not looking for someone with fashion clothing experience. More retail comms, packaging and campaign based experience.
This agency is offering a salary of up to around £70,000 for this position, along with other benefits and hybrid working.Job tags
