As the Head of Design, you will spearhead the creative efforts, bringing innovative ideas to life and ensuring their products stand out in the market. You'll lead a talented team of designers, guiding them through the design process from concept to completion and inspiring them to push the boundaries of creativity.
Description of the role:
- Lead and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Develop and execute a compelling design vision that aligns with the brand identity and resonates with the target audience.
- Oversee all aspects of the design process, from conceptualisation and sketching to prototyping and final production.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to ensure seamless execution of design projects.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the design studio, implementing best practices and processes to optimise efficiency and quality.
- Manage the design studio budget, resource allocation, and project timelines to meet business objectives.
- Cultivate strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, and vendors to support design initiatives and sourcing activities.
About you:
- Proven experience in a senior design leadership role, preferably within the furnishings
- Exceptional creativity and design flair, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the confidence to articulate and sell design concepts to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving business results through design excellence
- Bachelor's or master's degree in design, interior architecture, or a related field
