Job description

0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week), Fixed Term until 5 July 2024 (maternity cover contract)

Based at the Northbrook, West Durrington Campus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lecturer to join our Theatre team, teaching on our BA (Hons) MAke Up & Hair for Theatre and Media.

If you have industry experience or are a qualified lecturer and can deliver outstanding lessons this could be the ideal position for you.

The course has been devised in response to industry and student-led demand for practical training in makeup and hairdressing techniques for theatre, film, TV, fashion, festival, carnival and entertainment arenas. It carefully balances academic study with skill and craft development, as well as production/event experience and industry placements. We are looking for a lecturer with specialism in Make Up.

This post is fixed term as part of Maternity cover, initially until July 2024 with a revision after that date.

Specialist skills:

Preferable but not essential

Qualifications:

In addition to a relevant degree or industry experience, PGCE or Certificate of Education desirable
