Job description

We are recruiting for a Production Sewing Assistant to join a small hardworking team within our clients’ manufacturing site in Presteigne. This brand-new position has scope for growth and advancement whilst developing a good knowledge of the uniqueness of the products. This role is offered on a part time basis, with scope for flexibility on the number of hours per week and working days.

The successful candidate must have high attention to detail and existing sewing experience within a production environment.

What you can expect:

• Pay rate: £12.50 per hour - £14.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Working hours: 20–25 hours per week (flexible)
• Discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance
• Permanent position

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for the meticulous creation of handcrafted products using the in house designed fabrics
• Working closely with the design and production team to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship are maintained

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience of sewing with a production setting, with a demonstrated ability to create high-quality and handcrafted products
• Previous hand assembly and fabric handling experience (i.e. knowledge of fabric construction, production sewing/stitching skills and manual dexterity)
• Ability to learn quickly and continuously improve techniques and productivity
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to streamline manufacturing processes and optimise efficiency
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments
• Basic computer knowledge to use Microsoft Outlook emails and Zoom
• Driving licence due to rural location

Please note: The production requires the use of glue which can cause irritation for some people who have existing respiratory or skin conditions.
