Job Title: Consultant Ecologist
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000
Location: Oxford
We are looking for a Consultant Ecologist to join a specialist ecology consultancy in Oxford. You’ll be joining a team of 20 who are rapidly growing.
The role involves conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (habitat surveys), protected species surveys (typically newts, reptiles and mammals) and consultancy work including quoting, data analysis, reporting and project management. It would be perfect for someone wanting to take the next step on the career ladder and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. Their aim is to ensure their ecologists become well-rounded consultants, achieved by conducting regular performance reviews to ensure you meet your personal goals, recognising your progression with appropriate promotions.

To be considered you will need:
Genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment;
Experience of habitat surveys (UK Habs) and/or protected species surveys;
Good report writing skills;
Motivated to work both independently and as part of a team, often in remote locations and during unsociable hours;
Good communication skills both with colleagues, clients and third parties;
Comfortable designing surveys; and
Full driving licence and use of a car.
