Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a large Rail contractor that work on high value rail projects. They are looking to recruit an Electrical Supervisor to support the growing portfolio of earthing & bonding work throughout Wales & Borders.
Job Description:
Day to day you will be involved in works/responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Ensure that works are executed in accordance with the requirements of:
o All applicable legislation
o The Terms and Conditions of the contract
o The Contract Health and Safety Plan
o The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
o Approved Works Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
o The approved Construction Drawings and Specification
o The Policies and Procedures contained within the Company Business Management System
- Ensure that all company Health &Safety, Environmental requirements and initiatives are implemented.
- Produce and brief method statements and task briefings to all reporting personnel
- Delivery of works within programme and to budget.
- Ensuring that Quality standards are achieved and are ‘right first time’
- The promotion of a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice.
- The continuous monitoring of the progress work orders to ensure contract objectives are being met.
- Ensure that, changes to the scope of works are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
- The provision of formal reports on progress to the Project Manager/Site Agent.
- Ensure that robust records are maintained i.e./ diaries, allocation sheets, plant etc
- Procurement is managed to the required specification and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all relevant issues, which cannot be resolved at site level, are passed for the attention of the Project Manager / Site Agent.
- Leadership, supervision and monitoring of Direct and Subcontract Labour Force
- Report any unsafe practices.
- Daily White Board Brief.
- Point of Work Risk Assessment
- Brief Task Briefs.
- Deliver Toolbox Talks.
- Allocation sheets.
- Contribute to planning works on a daily basis.
- Plan efficient use of resource.
- Maintain site diaries
- Weekly SHEQ.
- Close call reporting
- Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers.
Requirements
To be considered for this role it would be preferable if you have current or previous experience of working in the Railway industry as an Electrical Installer.
• PTS
• CSCS
• OLEC 4
- Full UK Driving License
- Experience as a Supervisor working on Electrical installation and maintenance projects in the rail industry
