What you will do in your working day

Under the supervision of the Business Services Manager, the Apprentice will support and deliver a range of administration and business support duties within the Business Services Team, contributing and helping to develop a customer-focused service.

Due to our continuing growth, we’re pleased to offer a new opportunity at our head office for a Business Services Apprentice.

Reporting to the Business Services Team Leader, you will work alongside and contribute to the goals and services of the Business Services Team at the Stockton Office, supporting and delivering a range of administration and business support duties. You will provide excellent customer service and positive promotion of the department to internal and external customers and colleagues.

This is a front of house role and, being that first point of contact for visitors (including VIP’s) coming to site, making sure that first impression is a positive one.

Typical duties will include:

• General reception related duties, to ensure an efficient day to day service for customers, including, but not limited to;
• Incoming call handling
• All mail handling including the use of post room equipment
• Collation and issue of invoices
• Managing visitors in a friendly courteous manner
• Administration of operating procedures, training records, and risk assessments for the Facilities, Warehouse, Planning, Projects and Business Support Teams
• Supporting business travellers with enquiries, bookings etc.
• Formatting documents and using Microsoft tools
• General office administration activities
• Participating in Business Support Team related projects

The training you will be getting

Apprenticeship Standard: Business Administrator

Training Provider: Stockton Riverside College

Delivery model: Blended delivery; a mixture of online knowledge sessions and monthly face to face assessor visits in the workplace

This role is part of our talent planning for the future and, for the right person, we are looking to continue to develop the Apprentice upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Our business is growing, is fast paced and evolving so there may be the opportunity to gain permanent employment in the team, subject to performance, successful completion of the Apprenticeship, and a role being available.

Completion of this Apprenticeship may provide a gateway to further career opportunities within the business.
