The Client:
Our client is a renowned supplier of computerised systems for managing dangerous goods in sea transport, supporting global entities in shipping, distribution, warehouses, ports, and regulatory bodies.
The Role:
As a Dangerous Goods Compliance Specialist, reporting to the Regulations and Compliance Manager, you'll support dangerous goods compliance, consultancy, and training. Enhance the validation software and training materials.
Duties:
- Monitor dangerous goods regulations and communicate updates internally and externally.
- Provide support for consultancy queries regarding IMDG, ADR, and DGSA.
- Address customer queries on dangerous goods regulations and their implementation in software solutions.
- Develop regulatory training material and validation rules for automated cargo acceptance.
- Enhance training provision and update materials as needed.
- Assist in developing the Remote Container inspection programme.
- Support the Software Development team with validation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Certification in transportation of dangerous goods or equivalent experience, such as DGSA qualification.
- Thorough understanding of IMDG Code and ADR regulations.
- Experience in consultancy or training related to dangerous goods safety and compliance.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder liaison and regulatory guidance.
- Ability to analyse and apply complex regulatory requirements.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or relevant field.
- In-depth knowledge of IMDG Code and ADR regulations with 3-5 years of experience.
