Job Description
Project Planners have key responsibilities for ensuring that all aspects of a customer project plan, internal and external, are effectively planned to minimize business and customer on time delivery (OTD) risk.
In this role you will focus on:
As a Project Planner, you will work closely with our Project Managers and be responsible for:
- Developing and taking ownership of project schedules from the project handover meeting through to completion of the contract including Sitework activities, together with the maintenance of, progress reporting tools and detailed progress tracking.
- Developing project schedules for bid work, ensuring high levels of liaison with the bid manager, resource owners and the supply chain to ensure bid work can be successfully executed
- Reviewing, advising and making recommendations on contractual requirements specifically relating to schedule and progress monitoring.
- Maintaining, updating and monitoring of progress on project schedules, including production of internal and external reports.
- Managing preparation and issue of schedule impact assessments/ summaries as identified by the Project Manager for incorporation in internal project changes and external variation orders.
- Supporting Project Manager during internal and external meetings to proactively drive schedule discussions & present material accordingly.
- Implementing "early warning" identification of potential schedule issues and drive options to reduce "Cost to Recover" exposure
- Identifying and communicating ‘risk’ relating to all schedules produced.
- Where required, produce schedule derived outputs, such as Earned Value analyses.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- A background in engineering or previous experience working in an engineering company in a similar project/planning role.
- Have proven experience in Project Planning and managing multiple projects.
- Have a good understanding of project work and supply chain manufacturing operations.
- Sounds experience working with Microsoft Project.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel (pivot tables, advanced data sorting functions, macros).
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills for the purpose of presenting to team members and liaising with customers.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage and resolve conflicting demands and priorities.
- Possession of or ability to obtain SC level clearance.
- Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (“UK Eyes only”).
