Job description

Are you a great IT support engineer?  Do you have experience leading and/or managing teams and processes? Are you looking for a great development opportunity, the ability to gain indepth nuclear knowledge whilst growing as a Team Leader? We currently have an opening within Nuclear Operations to lead the Nuclear Site IT Services team at Hinkley Point B Power Station.  

The opportunity

Reporting to the Nuclear Site IT Services Manager, the Site IT team leader will assume the lead role for the Hinkley Point B Site IT Services team and have responsibility for all 2nd line IT support on site, local IT project delivery and ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of IT services to the station.

The team Leader will work alongside the wider team on 7 other stations to leverage best practice and continual learning in the best ways to support our IT for our colleagues across the nuclear fleet. This role is a site based position at Hinkley Point B Power Station.

This role is being offered on a Fixed Term 2 Year Contract.

We can offer a competitive salary from £54,391 - £71,779 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

Within this role, you will:

Who you are

To be considered for this role, you would hold a minimum of a relevant HNC in Computing, Engineering or Science (or equivalent combined qualification equivalence), live within approximately 1 hour drive or 30 miles of the station (flexibility can be discussed) and be able to achieve UK Government security vetting to SC (Security Cleared) standard.

To be successful in your application, you will have experience in IT service delivery and 1st and 2nd  line operational support and experience of working and supporting IT services within the ITIL service management framework or equivalent. You will be a team leader or manager with demonstrable experience leading people and process and be able to demonstrate stakeholder management experience with multiple colleagues and support partners up to executive level.

You’ll have experience of working with Windows 10 and Windows server environment including Active Directory, Azure/Entra. You should also have a good understanding of LAN infrastructure and topologies, and installation and support of peripheral devices and must have excellent customer facing skills, be dynamic, have high standards and integrity and be a good communicator.

A qualification or certification in any of the following while not essential would be highly beneficial: Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Prince 2, ITILv3 or ITIL4.
