The person appointed will work as part of a team and will have delegated responsibility for designated aspects of the Regional Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Service. This service is concerned with the quality of medicinal products and other associated items used by the hospital pharmaceutical service whether obtained from commercial sources, prepared in pharmacy departments, or manufactured in pharmaceutical production units. It ensures a high standard by providing a system of tests, audits and controls. They will be based at the Regional Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Service in the Plenum Building, Royal Victoria Hospital with some of their duties based at Victoria Pharmaceuticals at Knockbracken. The post holder will support the Pharmaceutical Quality System and undertake a work plan that is agreed with the Regional QA Pharmacist, Trust Lead QA Pharmacist and Production Managers, Victoria Pharmaceuticals .

Responsibilities

• To assist in the integration of the Validation Master Plan and Site Master File(s) for Victoria Pharmaceuticals.
• To lead on the quality assurance component of VP projects and general product development.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 18 months post registration experience as a qualified hospital pharmacist and completed and passed a recognised Foundation Programme or equivalent qualification.
• M.Pharm. or equivalent.

Desirable Skills

• Undertaken a relevant management study course.
• Have knowledge of pharmaceutical analytical and microbiological methods.
• Be computer literate and have experience in the use of software packages.
