Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Watchmaker to join our passionate team at Hugh Rice in Hull. As a Watchmaker, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of services and will be working in our in-house workshop, equipped with the latest tools and technology, alongside our Rolex Accredited Watchmaker. Already experienced with luxury brands, you will be looking for that next step towards Rolex Accreditation.

With a focus on quality and craftsmanship, Hugh Rice Jewellers offers a wide range of beautiful jewellery and watches from some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Rolex, Omega and TAG Heuer. The business has 5 stores consisting of 3 Hugh Rice branded stores in Beverley, Hull & Harrogate, and 2 LUXE by Hugh Rice stores focusing on fashion led jewellery and watches in Hull & Beverley.

 

Job role

The Watchmaker will have a meticulous eye for detail, as well as a passion for luxury watches, with a proven track record in achieving targets to promote excellence and delight our clients.

 

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting mechanical problems

• Servicing and repairs on a variety of luxury brands and their automatic and quartz movements

• Carry out refurbishment of precious metals and stainless-steel cases and bracelets

• Conduct and support training of any trainee watchmakers and technicians for all aspects of watch servicing and repairs

• Develop and maintain in-depth relevant brand and product knowledge

• Attend in house and brand training for personal ongoing development

• Maintain a high standard of work

 

Experience and skills

• WOSTEP/BHI certification, or equivalent

• Relevant accreditation/s and specific training from a luxury watch brand/s, is desirable, but not essential

• A highly driven work ethic and desire to succeed

• Excellent communication skills

• A high level of responsibility and accountability
