SEMH Teaching Assistant - Preston
Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced SEMH teaching assistant to join an alternative provision ASAP, in Blackburn. You will be required to work with small groups of KS3/4 pupils who have Social, Emotional Mental Health needs. This role will be full time and will continue initially on a temporary basis with a view to progress to a perm contract.
The school helps students that find it difficult to manage in mainstream education by giving them caring and understanding environment. As part of this role, you will help students that have experienced a turbulent time education and at points negative experiences.
You will be required to commit to the role on a full-time basis and be consistent with the behaviour policy of the unit. You will need to build relationships quickly with the pupils and you will have help and supervisions from teaching staff and senior leadership.

There is extra curriculum activities for the students to take part in including fishing and 5-A-side football matches against other alternative provisions. They will focus on a reduced curriculum and in particular key subjects such as Maths, English and Science so a strong background in these subjects is essential.

Minimum Rate of Pay - £13-15 per hour
Hours - 8.30am - 4pm, Monday - Friday
Experience, Training & Qualifications
Recent experience of supporting pupils with SEMH
Strong academic background in Maths, English & Science
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided)
Up to date Prevent training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however training can be provided)
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional children related references
