Job description
An exciting opportunity for a dynamic and focused all-around Account Manager/ PD with a passion for The Fashion Industry, predominantly denim, to join a leading manufacturer to key European High Street Retailers.
With a strong product development and sales background, you will be naturally customer-focused and ambitious and wanting to excel and advance your career working in the Clothing Industry.
MUST have previous experience with Denim/Wovens. It is a denim-specific product and so needs an understanding of the washing and drying processes etc
PLEASE NOTE: This is a work-from-home-based role initially, and will travel regularly
The Role:
- Building new business relationships with customers, Large Retailers, Supermarkets, Wholesalers and Independents.
- Working with and travelling Europe ( mainly Spain) on a regular basis to visit clients.
- Assisting with the presentation and selling of products and services to current and potential clients.
- Helping to develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge.
- Assisting with the negotiation of sales/cost prices, lead times and delivery dates.
- Liaising with the Design Team to discuss customer requirements.
- Dealing with high end customers
- Liaising with international fabric mills
- Ensuring critical path is maintained, liaising with Merchandisers and Quality teams to resolve any problems before they occur.
- Ability to interpret, translate and understand customer’s handwriting and requirements into feasible samples and products that they desire.
- Knowledge and clear understanding of the types of washes and terminology used in communications related to treatments of denim garments.
Requirements:
- Experience with Denim/Wovens. It is a denim specific product and so needs an understanding of the washing and drying processes etc
- A Merchandising/Product developer background within Account Management
- Ability to get deeply involved in the design and development process of new products and /or independently develop new products / styles/ washes in line with trends and customer’s needs.
- Good understanding of the garment manufacturing process and ability to design products based on mood boards.
- Knowledge and contacts with international fabric mills and distributors in China and elsewhere to be able to source fabrics for sampling and production.
- A sales background ideally with experience selling to Buyers within the Retail Trade
- Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills.
- Willing to travel as and when needed.
- Highly motivated.
- Ability to maintain and develop client relationships.
- Able to meet and work to demanding deadlines within a fast paced environment.
- Be fully IT literate including Excel.
