As a Unit Manager, you hold a key role in St John Ambulance – it is believed that 95.4% of our volunteers report to a Unit Manager. The role of the Unit Manager is a mixture of management and leadership, and you are responsible for almost all aspects of volunteer development and community output.
In this role you will manage our pilot unit in Hampshire for our new text program First Aid Only 16-17. The unit meets virtually every 2 weeks Tuesday evening and meetings in person for a development day every six weeks. The cadets in this unit will be aged 16+ and their scope is to be deployable to our events in the local area.

Key Responsibilities:
Encouraging youth leader team to deliver interesting and engaging session plans
Inducting new cadets into the unit.
Managing cadet IT, uniform and training
Planning virtual meetings
Planning development days
Working with the cadets through the Cadet to Adult transfer process
Proactive manager of youth leaders and cadets
Adaptable approach
Decisive decision making
Setting unit goals
Encouraging youth leader team to deliver interesting and engaging session plans
Inspiring young people to get involved in social action
