Chester Race Company are recruiting Racemakers for the 2024 race season at Chester Racecourse! This role is exciting and varied, you will be the welcoming face of the brand, often being the first (and lasting) impression our guests have of Chester Racecourse. If successful, you will be supporting the guest experience team in providing a memorable experience to all our guests, creating a day of escapism.

The successful Racemaker will be responsible for:

• Providing a genuine, welcoming, and memorable hello to our guests upon arrival
• Finding creative ways to keep guests entertained around the site
• Being proactive in approaching guests, bringing a bubbly, outgoing and positive vibe to Chester Race Days
• Answering questions and offering helpful information about our site
• And above all - having fun! Get a bit silly with it and bring joy to our guests day

What skills and experience do we look for in our Racemakers?

• Background in theatre, drama, entertainment and performance are beneficial
• Previous experience in a guest focused business
• A genuine passion and commitment for providing a high level of guest experience
• Positive, approachable, and confident demeanour is a must
• Ability to put yourself out there to entertain and make our guests feel welcomed
• Problem solving skills

If successful, you will be asked to attend an assessment centre on-site where we will put your racemaker skills to the test.

Our rates of pay (All rates are inclusive of holiday pay and are in affect from 1st April 2024)

18+ £13.15-£13.73 per hour (dependant on experience)

This role is to work on race days at Chester Racecourse, Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse (we provide transport!) and other selected major events . There is also the option to scale up your hours within hospitality via our staff app, the power is in your hands!
