Job description

Deputy Leader of The Life Centre

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary: Teachers Main Scale / Upper Pay scale plus TLR 2b (£5,348 per annum)

Hours of work: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

Closing date:    9 am Monday 8th April 2024

We are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Deputy Leader of The Life Centre to support the Leader of The Life Centre.

The Life Centre is a provision we have within, but separate from, the Academy where we provide a bespoke curriculum and pastoral care to a small group of students who have found accessing the mainstream curriculum challenging.

We provide a full curricular experience to students from Yr 7 to Yr 11 and have great success in bringing stability through improved attendance, behaviour, motivation and learning progress. We are able to be creative in designing our provision while also ensuring that students have the necessary knowledge and skills to transition back to mainstream or their next stage of learning or training. Many of our Life Centre students transition successfully back to mainstream provision at the Academy.

We are looking for a leader who has the desire to make a difference with young people who need support and clear boundaries; who has a high team ethic and resilience; and who is a highly effective teacher.

All Saints’ Academy is one of the best GCSE performing non-selective secondary schools in the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury area, and it has been for a number of years now.

Following another Good judgement, Ofsted reported:

•            All Saints’ Academy is an inclusive school.

•            Leaders and directors have been successful in improving pupils’ life chances by ensuring that they have achieved well in recent years.

•            Staff hold fast to the school’s values and ethos, which unite them in their drive to improve standards.

•            There is a clear determination to support pupils and their families to overcome barriers.
