Marshall Group have a brand new opportunity available for an Assistant Accountant to join our Group finance function.
Responsibilities for the Assistant Accountant will include:
Entity Accounts
- Assisting with the co-ordination and preparation of monthly management accounts and related analysis in accordance with reporting deadlines
- Posting of purchase and sales invoices for three small Group companies
- Preparation of VAT returns and reconciliations for small companies
- Submission and agreement of the intercompany matrix
- Assisting with the preparation of group reporting requirements to our parent company
- Preparing and reviewing regular balance sheet journals and transactions
- Preparing and maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations
- Responsibility for the consolidation of weekly cashflow forecasting and submission to group
Group Treasury
- Monitoring daily cash balances to ensure approved overdraft limits are not exceeded and updating the weekly tracker
- Assisting in the maintenance of the Group's banking and treasury platforms, management of Group's signatories in accordance with Board mandate and updating the banking mandates
- Working with the Treasury manager to ensure all FX transactions correctly recorded in ledgers
- Ad hoc cash and foreign currency analysis
Other
- Assisting in the preparation of payment runs and Inputting payments into the Group's banking platform for approval and signoff
- Office of National Statistics returns and other submissions on behalf of the Group
- Providing assistance and information to external auditors and other professional advisors as required
- Assistance in the financial administration of the small Charitable Trust the Company operators including maintenance of the cashbook, bank reconciliations, collation of donation request and input into the accounts process
You must have:
- Experience of working in a finance team and studying toward an accountancy qualification / part qualified status
- A positive, proactive and have a "can-do" attitude
- The ability to work independently and prioritise a varied workload; working to a schedule and tight deadlines
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Good level of Excel knowledge
