Job description
Engineering Buyer position offering a salary up to £40,000 per annum, Hybrid working and up to 38 days annual holiday!
As an Engineering Buyer, you will support the Head of Procurement for Machined Components , ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to site in accordance with agreed constraints and lead times. You will maintain clear communication lines between suppliers and the business, attending cross-functional meetings to provide updates against project targets. Additionally, you will manage KPIs, action trackers/plans, and escalate supplier performance as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement category sourcing strategies using Category Management process.
Manage all commercial aspects of sourcing, including spend analysis, tendering, and business award.
Source and evaluate new products to promote cost savings and efficiencies.
Negotiate, implement, and maintain supplier framework agreements.
Conduct supplier performance reviews to maintain quality, cost, and delivery performance levels.
Drive and implement Supplier Development programs for preferred suppliers within the category.
Proven experience in category buying within a complex Engineering/Technical manufacturing environment, including Low Cost and Best Cost sourcing.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Essential knowledge of machining/machine parts and materials.
HNC in engineering is desirable.
CIPS qualification is desirable.
