Job description
Applications Engineer / Proposals Engineer / Sales Engineer required to join a global electrical engineering manufacturer.
The successful Applications Engineer / Proposals Engineer / Sales Engineer will propose technical solutions, provide quotations, documentation plus technical product and application support to customers and the sales team for electrical switchgear and metering products and service across East Midlands and South East – Nottingham down to London.
The successful Applications Engineer / Proposals Engineer / Sales Engineer will ideally have experience working in an applications or technical sales role within switchgear, power distribution, power electrics, power monitoring or similar electrical engineering products.
Sales Engineers looking for a step up in to an Applications Engineer role would also be of huge interest.

Applications Engineer Role / Proposals Engineer / Sales Engineer - Technical product and application support to customers and the sales team.
- Responsible with supporting the organization with technical electrical switchgear and metering product, market and application knowledge.
- Specification, promoting and generating new business opportunities via end user channels.
- Identify electrical switchgear and metering market needs and opportunities, Support marketing activities.
- Visit key customers for training, electrical product updates and project meetings plus project sites for commissioning, training and hand-over when required.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
- Fully remote, travelling to customer sites across East Midlands and South East – Nottingham down to London.
Applications Engineer / Proposals Engineer / Sales Engineer Requirements - Experience as an Applications Engineer, Proposals Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Project Engineer, Service Sales Engineer, Documentation Engineer or similar within electrical engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience in providing technical solutions, quotations, documentation, technical application and sales support in the electrical or electronics industry.
- Applications or technical sales background within switchgear, power distribution, power electrics, power monitoring or similar electrical engineering products.
- Electrical or electronic engineering degree would be advantageous.
- Sales Engineers or switchgear Service Engineers looking for a step up in to an Applications Engineer role would also be of huge interest.
- Full UK driving licence, Willing to travel to customer sites daily across East Midlands and South East – Nottingham down to London and stay away for training when required.
