Job description

Our client is a Tier 1 main contractor that works in the Civils & Utilities sectors and they are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their Transportation team based in Somerset. This is for one of their highly esteemed maintenance works contract supporting Somerset County Councils road network. As a Commercial Manager, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them to carry out commercial control and governance in the support and delivery of highway maintenance works. Role & Responsibilities: Pricing of works and agreeing prices with the client, change control management (EWN & CE) Risk management and mitigation, contract opportunity development, revenue claims and WiP management, forecasting based on client budgets and annual spends Providing month-end reports, CVR's, subcontract liabilities along with monthly business packs (Commercial elements) Attending client meetings and monthly business reviews and report the contract's commercial performance to the Senior Leadership team Forming part of the Senior Management team on contract, developing and maintaining an effective Commercial team, providing commercial stability and functionality of the contract Requirements : Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, with previous commercial experience in highways or an infrastructure related sector Detailed contract experience using the NEC TSC form of contract and its various options and an understanding of the highway's method of measurement / pricing of highways works Ability to handle large volumes of data, due to the nature of highway maintenance work and evident experience in the control and management of all subcontractor elements
