The Housing Options & Support Service currently has a number of vacancies and whilst recruitment to these is underway we are looking to temporarily recruit Housing Options Admin Officers. Customer Service Experience.
MAIN PURPOSE:

To undertake (on and off the job) training to investigate, assess and advise customers under a statutory duty, in line with Housing Act 1996 (Part VI and Part VII), as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Homeless Code of Guidance and all other relevant and/or associated legislation.

Provide advice, information, and support to vulnerable residents, who approach the Council’s Housing Options and Support Service in need of help and support with their housing, assisting to prevent or relieve their homelessness and sustaining tenancies.

To work collaboratively with other housing teams and Council departments, Local Authorities colleagues, Registered Providers, and external partners to achieve the best outcomes for customers and to meet Service objectives and performance indicators.

Provide an excellent resettlement support service for vulnerable people showing care and compassion, finding solutions to their housing needs, through holistic, fair, and accessible service delivery.

The role will be:
• Based at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent
• Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm (36 hours)
• 4th July 2022 – 30th September 2022 (minimum of 8 weeks within this period)
• £12.32 per hour

The successful candidates will be offered basic training:
• In the Homelessness legislation
• On the Housing IT Systems and processes
• To understand the causes and effects of homelessness
• Homelessness administration and casework.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Delivery of customer services, and providing support to those in need of help and advice.
  2. Excellent administration and record keeping skills, ability to make full use of IT systems, and to work with minimum supervision and competently meet service objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
  3. Working effectively to manage a personal caseload by providing timely casework, openly communicating with customers, colleagues, and partners, within Data Protection (GDPR) regulations.
  4. Writing clear and concise information for range of customers who may need advice and support.
  5. Delivering excellent customer care and respond appropriately to customers, taking into
    consideration assessed needs, vulnerability, and protected characteristics.
  6. In preparing documents using Microsoft Packages, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
