Job description

Robert Half are working with a global, market leading organisation based in Edinburgh to identify a new Management Accountant. This is a newly created role, suited to a qualified, part-qualified or QBE accountant. The role will involve a blend of both management reporting and financial accounting work. The successful candidate will join an established finance function and will collaborate closely with stakeholders both in the UK and in European entities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts for European entities.
• Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations, conduct reviews, and provide sign-off.
• Collaborate with finance managers across various European sites to facilitate month-end close and address local reporting requirements.
• Assist in compiling tax packs, annual statutory accounts, and address external audit queries for European entities.
• Facilitate integration and migration of reporting and financial processes from European entities to the local Accounting team.
• Provide support for ERP migration and document user requirements.
• Improve the automation of financial processes and reporting to reduce manual workload and enhance efficiency, allowing for a focus on value addition.
• Perform ad hoc duties to support finance applications and initiatives.
• Contribute to the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for European central functions.

Skills & Qualifications:

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification - part qualified and qualified by experience (QBE) will be considered.
• Experience working with multiple European entities and familiarity with European GAAPs.
• Strong background in systems and accounting.
• Experience in finance change, including system and process integration.
• Desirable experience with D365.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills within a team.
• Ability to question and challenge accounting treatments.
• Proactive self-starter who works independently.
• Confidence in accounting knowledge and abilities.
• Proficiency in a European language is desirable.

Salary will be within a range of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum plus benefits.
