The role:

Airport Sustainability Manager

Are you a hardworking champion for sustainability, driven by the ambition to make a real difference?

Based in Terminal 5, Heathrow, we're seeking a dynamic Airport Sustainability Manager to join our fast-paced, results-oriented team. This is your chance to take centre stage, collaborate with key stakeholders, and shape the future of a balanced BA operation at Heathrow. Every day, you'll be orchestrating positive change across the airport ecosystem.

What you'll do:

• Scope, Plan, Develop and be responsible for the Environmental Management Plan for the BA Heathrow operation
• Lead the research, identification and management of initiatives to support the continuous improvement of balanced climate and environmental performance across BA Heathrow.
• Drive positive KPI metrics (including CO2, Waste Reduction, Air Quality & Reality Check,) through the delivery of sustainability action as part of the environmental management plan.
• Through collaboration with central Sustainability teams, support sustainability training and engagement programs in Heathrow to share best practices and empower colleagues to deliver our BA Better World strategy
• Coordination of sustainability mentorship to Heathrow colleague community, working closely with internal communications and central sustainability teams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging in line with our strategy and brand.
• Liaise closely with other directorates, IAG Airports, trade unions and external representatives including Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) to drive collaboration and action

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

• A passion for sustainability and a desire to make a difference
• Excel at establishing relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Have a strong technical understanding of environmental management systems and sustainability practices.
• Represent BA Heathrow community and BA Better World at internal and external sustainability events
• Provide leadership and direction to Senior Leadership across Heathrow on BA Better World and environmental action
• Work collaboratively alongside the local industrial framework and Trade Union representatives when delivery change that impacts any Heathrow area

Your experience:

• Environmental Management System qualifications and experience (desirable)
• Awareness and understanding of environmental considerations in an operational environment
