Job description

Job title: Humanities Teacher 

Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham

Salary: £33,600 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (4pm Friday)

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

We’re looking for a Humanities Teacher​ to join The Grange Therapeutic School team.

About the role

The Grange is a specialist independent school which provides education, residential care and therapy for young people aged 8-18 with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ASC or related conditions. 

You will teach Humanities plus an additional subject across the national curriculum to students aged between 11-18 and be a form tutor for students to support them in their education.

Purpose of Job:

  1. To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Education.
  2. In consultation with the Head of Education to undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

The Grange Therapeutic School is an independent special school for young people aged 8 -18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school is based in a Victorian country house near Oakham with stunning views and fantastic facilities to develop not only the educational, but also the social and emotional needs of our pupils. With access to woods and lakes on site, the school has an ethos about delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to, and driven by, the individuals. Behaviour is currently rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.
