Job description

BODYSHOP PANEL TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP.

We have a fantastic opportunity for Panel Technician Apprentice to join our team at Stephen James BMW & MINI.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with one of the world’s most prestigious and technologically advanced car manufacturers.

YOUR ROLE.

You will be working in a busy BMW/MINI Bodyshop, where you will be responsible for repairing accident damaged motor vehicles to the high standards of the BMW/MINI brand.

During the time spent at your BMW Bodyshop, a mentor will be allocated to oversee the work-based learning programme and you will attend a centralised Bodyshop training facility in Milton Keynes for their off-the-job training. This centre is equipped with BMW Cars and BMW Colour Systems to ensure that apprentices are trained to the highest standards. The Bodyshop Panel apprenticeship is a 3-year programme.

Successful applicants must demonstrate the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS.

Applicants are required to have, or predicted to obtain, GCSE Grade A*-C / 9-4 or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in the following subjects:

THINGS TO CONSIDER.

Successful applicants must be prepared to travel to the body training facility in Milton Keynes to complete their apprenticeship training. Training is completed in one-week blocks approximately once every two-three month. All training costs are covered by the BMW Retailer/Bodyshop (travel, accommodation, and food).

The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage guide (ANMW): 21yrs and over is £11.44 ph, 18yrs to 20yrs is £8.60ph, Under 18yrs is £6.40ph

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be qualified as a Panel Technician Standard Level 3 and IMIAL Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles
