Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our client's dedicated team at a reputable Hospice in Hackney. As a Band 7 Physiotherapist, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and holistic care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Your leadership skills will be essential, as you will be responsible for managing a Band 6 and a Band 5 Physiotherapist.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in physiotherapy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients in the hospice setting.
- Supervise and mentor Band 6 and Band 5 Physiotherapists, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Undertake complex assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their unique physical and emotional needs.
Management and Coordination:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the physiotherapy department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and integrate physiotherapy services within the overall care plan.
- Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and clinical audits to enhance the quality of care provided.
Education and Training:
- Facilitate training sessions and provide ongoing education to the physiotherapy team to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines within the hospice setting.
Patient and Family Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with patients and their families, involving them in the development and review of treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients and families on managing symptoms and optimizing functional abilities.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Prepare reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Extensive clinical experience in palliative care and a strong understanding of the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing a team of physiotherapists.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
