WSP Middle East is looking for a Director of Marketing & Communications to partner with our leadership as well as our clients, to drive an enhanced focus on raising our brand profile and awareness across the Middle East. Hence, over time increase our overall competitiveness, ability to attract key talent and ultimately our market positioning.
You will need a proven track record in driving multi-channel communication strategies and leading on innovative marketing initiatives. With a particular focus on encapsulating the essence of our values and brand in all our external activities e.g. conferences, events, marketing campaigns, thought-leadership etc; One of our key strategic goals is to personify “One WSP” in the way our senior leaders engage with the external market, “One Voice” and “One Message” etc;
Your new role, what's involved?
- Working with senior leaders of the business, to drive the overall marketing strategy in alignment with regional strategic plans and objectives.
- Developing strategies, managing budgets, setting goals, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across various marketing channels.
- Leading the brand team - including digital marketing, communications, and graphics design teams.
- Developing and maintaining BU-specific marketing collateral to enable the broader organisation to understand the expertise, strategies and and promote cross-selling of services.
- Training, coaching and development of our people in particular the senior leadership to feel confident in delivering key messaging, our brand and personifying WSP.
- Aligning all regional communications and activities with WSP Global strategy for Marketing & Communications including focusing on driving “One WSP” and other global themes e.g. Net Zero and ESG.
- Working closely with business leadership to develop an annual calendar of regional / global events and associated strategies and communication briefs for each event.
- Coordinating and prioritising WSP’s participation in regional events, conferences, memberships, sponsorships, white papers, project openings, etc. Networking with key partners to obtain good positioning for WSP.
- Developing with brand team externally facing collateral, social media posts, news and announcements, and other communications.
- Responsibility for developing specific award submissions, responding to surveys, and coordinating other external visibility opportunities.
- Developing content with the brand team for internal communications such as newsletters, town halls, leadership conferences, executive briefings, etc.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism or a closely related field. Plus 10-15 years of experience in marketing and communications in particular working with senior executives.
- Preferably already have a strong network in the Middle East and / or the Built Environment so can support in prioritising key marketing initiatives and approaching key partners / channels to market.
- Arabic speaking a plus
- Strong communication abilities, able to articulate complex ideas in a creative manner and able to influence or persuade others.
- Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal-oriented
- Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes with a commitment to internal and external client service.
- Ability to travel, as needed.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
