Job description

The School of Medicine and Dentistry wishes to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the clinical years MBBS team at our Westlakes campus..

A critical element of this role is liaison with UCLan’s partner clinical institutions and third sector organisations. Working closely with the Phase 2 Operations Lead and Academic Lead, the post holder will be responsible for liaising with partner NHS Trusts and other external providers regarding placements and associated clinical supervision and teaching. The role involves monitoring attendance, collating student feedback and providing support with portfolios and assessments. The post holder will plan the delivery of Campus teaching and liaise with university staff and external organisations to organise delivery of teaching.

You will have excellent communication skills as you will deal with academic and clinical staff and will often be the first port of call for student queries.

You will have good IT skills and will be responsible for the technical aspects of the students’ e-portfolio system. A range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning is essential, as is a word processing/typing/IT qualification or demonstrable equivalent experiential learning.

The post is for a 3 month fixed term contract but may be reviewed at the end of it.

The post holder will work at the UCLan West Lakes campus. Occasional travel to other UCLan campuses and partner institutions may be required.
