Our Lab is a co-located team who work together on key initiatives to deliver value at pace by designing services that colleagues and customers find useful, intuitive, and engaging to use. Our Lab has a strong focus on complex problem solving in an agile environment where engineers are free to experiment and create innovative products which will transform the way our customers engage with us. As we go through this digital transformation we are growing our teams not only in the UK but also internationally!

Your contribution will be instrumental to our strategy of simplifying, modernising, and de-risking the Colleague Channels technology landscape, enabling the Bank of the Future and ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders.

JOB TITLE:  Engineering Lead

SALARY: £86,965.00 - £112,541.00 GBP

LOCATION(S): Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

A great opportunity has arisen within the Colleague Channels Platform for an Engineering Lead to work with an amazing team transforming our branch applications.

As an Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for leading feature teams of engineers developing and supporting digital front-end and back-end applications. You’ll help to develop the technical designs of our customer focussed solutions and the plans to deliver them. You’ll actively promote engineering best practices and set technology and change delivery direction in alignment with the bank’s technology strategy, best practices & principles.

Line management will be a key part of this role, helping the engineers in the teams to grow and develop whilst staying hand on. You’ll also help push the engineering agenda within the wider Lab environment, looking for opportunities to improve and transform the way we build our services.

You’ll be someone who can contribute to the technical leadership team's work of driving the technology and future of the platform. You have technical know-how from developing and producing customer focussed journeys and services, stakeholder management working closely with strategy and teams to architect, design and implement solutions and you’ll love mentoring and educating less experienced developers.
