Your work will be undertaken in line with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards, and in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Plan and manual. This role would suit an experienced Senior Internal Auditor or an Internal Audit professional looking to move into a senior role. We are looking for someone who has experience working in Internal Audit or Risk Management; has experience in leading a small team in delivering the Internal Audit Plan; and who has a keen interest in working in local government and making a difference. You will be an effective communicator with officers at all levels within the organisation, both orally and in writing. You will have experience of drafting reports which are clear, concise and focus on the main priorities. You will have the ability to manage your own workload, prioritising where necessary; and meet deadlines, with supervision and guidance where necessary. You will substitute for the Chief Internal Auditors in her absence and for areas where the Chief Internal Auditor has operational responsibilities. You will be experienced in MS applications and be a quick learner for all systems used by the Council. The Council is currently offering a hybrid working model, offering access to office working on some days/when required, on a temporary basis, with longer term options becoming available in the future. We are committed to being a more inclusive employer - to ensure we can consider any reasonable adjustments, please either contact the recruiting manager to discuss any individual circumstances, discuss at interview or, if you prefer, after any conditional offer is made.
