Morrison Water Services are recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work on our Welsh Water Framework contract across Wales but predominantly based in South. Hybrid working offered.
As the Manging Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our commercial team who are responsible for the delivery of the Developer Services contract.
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor you will be in control of the management of work-stream based commercial team consisting of SQSs, QSs, AQSs and Administrators. You will be responsible for ensuring that their commercial team complete the following tasks accurately and in a commercial, sensitive manner.
You will be responsible for monthly AFP production and submission. Identification and measurement of change on live projects and negotiation of target cost variations. Negotiation of dis-allowable and withheld costs with client representatives / escalation to CM if required. Monthly CVRs and forecast cost to complete by project.
You will be responsible for monitoring of subcontractor payments, forecast spend, risk and opportunity schedules. Identification of commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change. Assisting the project teams and other commercial functions. Trend analysis, record keeping and archiving.
Do you have experience in the Utilities/construction sector? This is preferred but not essential.
Are you commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of their own teams and their business unit’s performance?
Are you proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity?
Do you have an eye for detail who can challenge and help build target costs?
Are you results driven, capable of working on own initiative and just as importantly supporting the wider team?
A strong leader who mentors their team, developing each team member
Are you consistent with great attention to detail?
Do you have the ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently?
Are you experienced in dealing with high volume and low value work?
Have you gained experience working in an Alliance environment with multiple partners including the Client?
