Founded in AD627, St Peter’s is the fourth oldest school in the world with a strong tradition of providing outstanding educational opportunities for its pupils.

Proudly located on a 47-acre riverside campus just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of York, St Peter’s is an over-subscribed co-educational, day and boarding school with over 1200 pupils aged 2 to 18, which achieves outstanding examination results alongside an extensive co-curricular programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, creative and inspiring class teacher to join our award winning teaching team. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher with high expectations for all children and an ability to adapt learning to enable all learners to succeed taking account of diversity, equity and inclusion.

An up to date knowledge of applying research and evidence will enable them to apply this to continuously strive to improve teaching and learning. We offer a school which allows teachers to teach, be bold and use their initiative, flair and imagination to inspire, motivate and engage children. An ability to work independently and as a valuable contributor to collaborative work with colleagues from across the school is a key element of this post.
