Do you want to use your skills and experience to contribute to the ongoing battle against climate change?

We are now looking for an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist.

You will provide substantial support to the Operations team to ensure appropriate health, safety and environmental arrangements are in place within your designated department, to support delivery of a strong EHS management framework and culture.

You will proactively support the operations team by providing leadership, demonstrating, and promoting responsible attitudes towards EHS, implementing best practice with regards to Health, Safety and Environmental standards and contributing towards the delivery of the overall business EHS strategy.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

Providing visible, strong and active leadership, coaching and mentoring for the workers teams

You will be a role model for health, safety and environment (HSE) by providing competent HSE advice and promoting responsible attitude towards HSE

Compliance with all HSE requirements from customer contract (if there were any) (ensuring that HSE topics are clearly defined), local legislation and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE)

Ensuring availability and control of the site HSE plan, specifically the Environmental, sustainability and Energy elements

Responsible for availability of detailed HSE process and procedures description for fulfilling HSE requirements

Monitoring the fulfilment of targeted environmental, sustainability and energy key performance indicator (KPIs) for the sites and develop appropriate action plans if needed

Collaborate in sites HSE troubleshooting and guiding HSE personnel on site regarding best practices

Ensuring that all relevant incidents are investigated, and actions are implemented in timely manner

Fostering proactive approach to HSE with all core team members

In case of HSE breaches, ensure that proper measures are taken regarding disciplinary sanctions (Zero Tolerance Policy)

Liaising with the site management team regarding implementation of HSE related topics

Developing HSE reports including KPI analysis and contractors’ performance

Identifying, managing and involving HSE relevant site stakeholders in case of significant deviations

What you need to make a difference

 

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

Previous experience in a HSE advisor or specialist role

Knowledge in international, local/national HSE regulations and HSE compliance obligations and Environmental specialisms including permitting

Experience working within a multicultural environment. Your experience should have been gained working in renewables, or a similar heavily regulated industry

You should be a naturally confident speaker and love the flexibility and challenges that the role offers you. As infrequent travel forms part of the role, a full driver’s license is required

A strong knowledge of the MS Office package is a must, as well as a sound understanding of the local legislative HSE requirements
