About Our Client
My client are a Leeds based SME overseeing 6 different distribution and FMCG companies. They are currently seeking a Fleet Manager for a group position to oversee and streamline all of the companies in-house fleet / company vehicles.
Job Description
Key responsibilities for the fleet manager include;
- Strategically plan and manage fleet operations to meet business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure vehicles and equipment, negotiating contracts to achieve cost savings.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of drivers and support staff to deliver exceptional service standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to streamline processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
- Proven experience as a fleet manager within the logistics distribution and supply chain sector
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and empower teams.
- In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, compliance, and regulatory requirements particularly focussed around company cars and sprinter style vans
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
- Live within a commutable distance of Leeds
