Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Paralegal or Fee Earner with experience working within a wills, trusts and tax team to join a highly regarded, multi-regional firm in Shrewsbury.
You’ll join a close-knit team within a growing office of 40 people and have the opportunity to work with colleagues from other offices across the UK, including a new and flourishing contentious probate team.
The department has a fantastic reputation, a growing caseload of good quality work available, and is ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
You’ll be able to work from home two days each week, with the rest of your time spent at the firm’s offices in the picturesque town of Shrewsbury, recently voted as one of the Top 10 Places to Live in the UK.
You will assist solicitors within the team on complex, HNW cases to include wills, inheritance tax planning, asset protection and knowledge of capital taxes. You’ll also handle your own caseload of less complex matters.
The firm has a fantastic employee retention record. Many of the firm’s partners and senior management team have been there since solicitor or associate-level, demonstrating the unrivalled career path you could forge at the firm. Quite unusually, there are also non-traditional routes to management for those lawyers who aren’t sure they want to remain fee-earning for the rest of their career.
Your benefits package will include an enhanced annual leave allowance (up to 35 days plus bank holidays and Christmas close) and pension provision, healthcare scheme, death in service and free parking scheme. All solicitors in the team are supported in undertaking STEP or ACTAPS qualifications, if they wish to.
The firm sets very reasonable billing targets of 1000 hours, supporting a fantastic work/life balance. This makes the firm’s generous bonus scheme even more attractive, as it kicks in when you reach 80% of your target – providing an extremely attainable way to significantly bump up your annual salary.
