Teaching Assistant needed for Primary School in Barnsley!

Teaching Assistant needed for a primary school within the Barnsley area. Experience working with children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities would be advantageous. This role is to start ASAP with potential of becoming a permanent role. You will be placed in an SEN unit with ages from EYFS-Y3. You will be responsible for providing one-to-one support, assisting them both in and out of the class. This is a challenging unit working with non-verbal children who have high behavioural needs. This role will be to start in April 2024.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be responsible for providing one-to-one support, assisting them both in and out of the classroom. You may also be expected to lead small groups of children who require additional support.

In order to be successful for this position you must:

• Have excellent classroom management skills
• Good subject and curriculum knowledge
• Recent experience supporting children, which can be referenced
